iHateRadio is proud to welcome a host of new awesome independent artists to our library this summer! It never ceases to amaze us just how much unbelievably amazing music continues to fall under the radar of the corporate radio regime, but hey, that’s why we’re all here, right? With that being said, let’s get on to the festivities!

Perpetual Groove – Athens, GA’s kings of funky space jam with a southern rock twist are at it again after a brief hiatus for a few years, and kicked things off with a pair of shows at the Georgia Theatre in Athens. Both shows have been added to the iHateRadio library, and we’re honored and excited to kick a little PGroove into rotation! You can pick up your own copy of the shows at Perpetual Groove’s page on Livedownloads.

REVERBNATION… whoa! Nearly 7,000 submissions came in through this last round of Reverbnation roster expansion, and we found some amazing new bands that we’re slowly trickling into the library. If you were accepted, and haven’t sent in your tracks yet, please do!

Captain Green – Space funk at its absolute finest! These Baton Rouge native have cooked a serious gumbo of independent sounds, and are touring all around the country in support of the funk. We caught them at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park recently, and were blown away!

Liquid Monk – Detroit brings us the fresh and funky sounds of Liquid Monk! They’re prepping the release of the first album, and we’ve added their first single, Man on Fire, to rotation. We can’t wait to hear the rest!

The Getbye – We’ve gotten to know The Getbye quite a bit from some of our favorite Florida festivals, and are captivated by their extremely unique sound every time we see them! Not to mention we’ve witnessed the drummer play drums while also playing Cello and purple Trombone. Be sure to get down on some Getbye!

These were just a few of our selections from this round of Reverbnation submissions. We’ll be getting all of the artists added to our roster, and their music in rotation ASAP!

Other Reverbnation Summer 2015 selections include: Boukou Groove, Deadbeat Poets, Fake Flowers Real Dirt, Funky Butt Brass Band, Hug the Dog, Johnny Stanec, Paper Cranes, Stoned and Beautiful, Relative Souls, The Reel Feel, and Spred the Dub.
